GGA Dark Chia Seeds have numerous benefits, but one of the most unique properties of Dark Chia is its ability absorb up to 12 times its weight in liquid and being the most mature having the highest ALA(alpha linoleic acid) omega 3 of the 3 chias(brown, white & black), which help accelerate weight loss. So should you have them dry or do you have to soak them, is the question!?!? Hydrated soaked chia slows digestion and the time it takes for your stomach to empty which means you feel full longer. Soaking chia will activate the seed making it more digestible for your body, helping to prevent blood sugar spikes, decreasing cholesterol and keeping you hydrated longer! Raw seeds are only seen in pretty photos to show that they have used chia seeds in their recipes so don't get fouled!! There are too many bloggers/vloggers online who really are not experts in what they are trying to say! Having chia seeds raw can cause severe constipation which you could be hospitalized for!
Firstly wash your seeds! Just like lentils, grains and beans, chia seeds need to be washed too! Leave them in water and let them soak and drain the debris away.
So here is how you should prepare GGA dark chia seeds:
It all depends on how much of a hurry you are in. If you are a good planner, place your water and chia seeds in a jar, shake for about 2-3 minutes and then let sit in the refrigerator overnight. You can also get a really good gel
overnight. You can also get a really good gel consistency in about 2-3 hours with this method if you don't want to wait overnight.
If you’re in a hurry, simply swish the chia and water around in a jar (sealed) for about 5 minutes and let sit for another 5-10 minutes and you should have a good gel-like consistency. You can always just put 1 teaspoon in a cup of yogurt and let it soak up the fluids from the yogurt!
