❤This old inkwell was collected in the Dana monastery, Yushu, long time ago, and it has been passed down for about 4 generations,over 100 years,Lamas used it to store ink and write scriptures. You can see that its whole body is full of traces of the years,there is a small patch on the side of the bottle. ❤It is a traditional Tibetan style inkwell, hand cast in red copper and brass. The cap is inlaid with a wooden stopper to prevent ink from spilling and to stir when mixing ink sticks with water. ❤The shape of the bottle comes from one of Ashtamangala (Eight Auspicious Signs), Treasure vase Auspicious symbol - Vase. Rewalsar. The treasure vase (Tibetan: གཏེར་ཆེན་པོའི་བུམ་པ་, THL: terchenpo'i bumpa) represents health, longevity, wealth, prosperity, wisdom and the phenomenon of space. The treasure vase, or pot, symbolizes the Buddha's infinite quality of teaching the dharma: no matter how many teachings he shared, the treasure never lessened. The iconography representation of the treasure vase is often very similar to the kumbha, one of the few possessions permitted a bhikkhu or bhikkhuni in Theravada Buddhism.
