She resides in the Drashi Gon temple in Lhasa, Tibet. The temple was originally constructed at the request of the Tibetan ruler Pholane in the mid to late 18th century and is located half way between the Barkor of central Lhasa and the sprawling Sera Monastery to the north-east. The temple was also in close proximity to the Chinese embassy of the time. Sera Monastery also has a small Gonkang temple in the Barkor surrounding the Lhasa Tsuglhakang. In this small temple there is included with the other minor protectors of Sera Monastery a clay image of Drashi Lhamo. The name of the temple 'Four Monks' reflects the number of appointed staff who were selected from Sera Monastery nearby. The function of the temple and duties of the monks were to offer up prayers for the well being of the Qianlong Emperor (1711-1799) of China.
