We are Brooke and John Overholser - spouses and creators of LoveInHandmade. We met in 2002 on Match.com and were both veterinary technicians at the time. Brooke was a tech for over 15 years until becoming a stay-at-home mother in late 2016. John eventually left the vet field and began working with Brooke's father as an upholsterer until 2011. By then, we were married and had two boys as John began his new career as a home inspector. In 2018 we welcomed our daughter into the family. After leaving the workforce, Brooke began dabbling in different crafts such as wreath making, button art, and knitting (when not tending to the kids and our small flock of chickens). Both of us have always been artistically inclined, and John has always been a very handy person, so when the pandemic impacted our economy, and John's work slowed down, it was only natural that we looked for an alternative income stream. Brooke had been teaching herself macramé, and it came natural to her, so she suggested that we start an Etsy shop. John knew that Brooke's talent and attention to detail were valuable, so it didn't take long for him to set up the shop, create a brand, and begin networking on social media. We officially opened for business on October 12th, 2020. In late 2022 we had to close up shop due to some health issues in the family, but once the dust settled, we used the break to reimagine our future goals and products for the shop. In addition, Brooke rejoined the workforce, and John dove into his painting and stained-glass art. Once we were ready, we reopened LoveInHandmade in October of 2024. It has been humbling just how popular our products have become. We pride ourselves in creating unique macramé products, stained-glass art, and original paintings using only the highest quality materials, and customer service and satisfaction are even more important to us and our brand. Nothing says "you're special" or "you're loved" more than being gifted something that was handcrafted with true love and pride of workmanship.
